Counseling

The most critical element of effective therapy is forming a comfortable, trusting relationship. So that we can begin to get to know each other and assess if this is a good fit for you, I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. I offer one-hour sessions for $95 and accept Medicaid and Employee Assistant programs from Gunnison County and Vail. Scholarships may be available to those in need. Ascent Counseling is not an in-network provider for other insurance companies. However, please check with your insurance company to see if they will reimburse for out of network providers. Ascent Counseling can provide a Super Bill with pertinent information including CPT codes and NPI for your insurance company.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, health and wellness, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes etc.

Intensive Therapy

In addition to hourly sessions, Ascent counseling also offers intensive therapy sessions that are longer in duration allowing clients to undergo a deep exploration of underlying issues and psychological factors more quickly than conventional therapy. These sessions are typically helpful for clients who want to focus their time more intensely due to a desire to resolve their issues more quickly, time constraints due to family or work commitments, or travel. Intensive therapy can also be helpful for clients seeking to heal from trauma through EMDR therapy. During intensive therapy, clients often have a greater ability to discuss and address their internal vulnerabilities to unhealthy thoughts and behaviors allowing for greater progress in a shorter period of time. The duration and frequency of these sessions are determined by the client and therapist based on the needs of the client and may range anywhere from 2 hours to a half or full day. Rates for intensive therapy are $95 an hour.
